    Good People Home Care delivers personal health and social care support services to individuals in their own homes.  The services offered by Good People Home care aim to improve the quality of life of those who wish to recover whilst living independently in their own homes.

  • Job Responsibility

    Assist in leading the Home Care team to create and maintain a safe caring and stable environment for clients in their homes.
    Provide leadership and motivation, conducive to good staff relations, promoting an ethos of quality practice, professionalism, accountability and ongoing learning.
    Assist the Care Manager to organize the day to day running of the service provision through the Policies, training, supervision and guidance provided by the Company.
    Support the Care Manager in achieving the aims and objectives of the Company and achieving the level of quality in the service provided to the Service Users in accordance with the Company’s Quality Assurance Policy.
    To assist the Care Manager in marketing the services provided by the Company and liaising with commissioners, prospective Service Users, health professionals and other agencies connected with the running of the service.
    Develop & implement policies & procedures in agreement with the  Care Manager .
    Manage the staff rota, including the sourcing of relief staff as required to cover staff absences.
    Assist in recruitment, selection, appointment and training of staff as required.
    Maintain all records and documentation in line with service and Good People policies and procedures.
    To provide written reports on any aspect of the service as requested.     
    Assist the  Care Manager in the management of the budget for the care team in line with approved budgetary procedures, and to ensure that optimum benefit is achieved from available resources.
    To carry out On Call duties, overnight and at weekends, on a rota basis as determined by the management.
    When On-Call, provide telephone support and assistance to Staff and Service Users; be available to be called out as necessary
    Must be flexible to cover for calls in the field whenever the need arises including evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
    To represent the Company in a professional manner at all times, on the telephone, face to face or in written communication.
    To ensure that telephones are answered promptly, and people are spoken to in a polite and respectful manner.
    To maintain confidentiality at all times and carry out the Company’s Confidentiality Policy.
    To carry out the monitoring of the service in the field to ensure that it meets the quality targets of the Company, contractual requirements of the commissioners and to keep the Care Manager informed of the outcomes and issues that are identified.
    To report to the Care Manager any issues regarding the legislative requirements concerning the services provided and the staff providing them.
    To visit Service Users and to make reviews of the written Support Plans, examine the written records of medication administration and daily log notes kept by Staff as required by the Registered Manager.
    At the direction of the Care Manager – to carry out staff spot checks, appraisals and supervisions.    
    To assist the Registered Manager in holding staff meetings for Care Workers.
    To maintain accurate records.
    Any other duties which are deemed reasonable by the Care Manager, or Director of Care.

  • Educational Requirement

    Completed all modules QQI level 5 or 6 in Healthcare, Social studies or Pre-nursing  
    Professional qualification
    Demonstrate experience in care provision at a level that reflects the responsibilities of the post applied for
    Good literacy and numeracy skills
    Computer literate
    Understanding of legislation concerned with care provision
    Administrative experience
    Full clean driving licence
    Experience as a supervisor or senior care worker or other role within a care providing organisation.
